I feel like everywhere I look, facebook, instagram, church, etc I see adventure, love, marriage, babies and those lives look so inviting but I can't relate.
If the lives of young singles are projected they are out doing adventures, making their lives count, and im just as guilty of only projecting those moments. How much focus is put on those of us living the every day life in question of what we are supposed to do with our lives? It can be a very lonely road.
While everyone is posting pictures of their kids or significant other, or spontaneous adventure i'm over here like,
"Another day at the office"

I have been waiting for direction for 2.5 years. Has it all been bad? No. Has God directed me? Yes, I can see smalls ways looking back. Does that make it easy in the meantime? My goodness no.
I love it that God created me to make the most unlikely friendships. Just thinking about it puts a huge smile on my face. I made friendships in the last 2.5 years that i wouldn't trade. Most of them happened through work where I had a big role and people valued me and trusted me. I struggled trying to figure out my life while I was there and I was excited when God moved me to a different job. I was so ready for a new adventure but part of me withered when I left my corner.
Now here I sit with nothing to do, no big title, no one comes to see me, no Dr Phil counsel chair behind me and it makes me think about my life.
What single, 20-30 year old believer in Jesus doesn't want to make an impact, have a crazy life full of adventures and have purpose. Maybe i'm abnormal but I like to think there are more of you out there that are struggling and just maybe you will happen across this space of mine.
I have done some crazy things with my life already and I like to think I am not attached to comfort but that would be a lie. I want obvious direction and then I say I will step without hesitation but I don't think that is true.
Last week I have a friend who is trying to encourage me to find something I am passionate about that helps people because that is where I thrive. Another day I stopped at the old office and the sweet secretary told me, "Briana I think you know what you are supposed to do." I wanted to ask her what she meant but that defeats the purpose of what she just said so I didn't :o but I have a vague idea though.
I've been reading a book called "Love Does" by Bob Goff and it has been so good, challenging, and encouraging. I read this yesterday,
"I don't think God is giving me the silent treatment because He's mad. I think God's hope and plan for us is pretty simple to figure out. For those who resonate with formulas, here it is: add your whole life, your loves, your passions, and your interests together with what God said He wants us to be about, and that's your answer. If you want to know the answer to the bigger question-- what's God's plan for the whole world?-- buckle up: it's us.
We're God's plan, and we always have been. We aren't just supposed to be observers, listeners, or have a bunch of opinions. We're not here to let everyone know what we agree and don't agree with, because, frankly, who cares? Tell me about the God you love; tell me about what He has inspired uniquely in you; tell me about what you're going to do about it, and a plan for your life will be pretty easy to figure out from there. I guess what I'm saying is that most of us don't get an audible plan for our lives. It's way better than that. We get to be God's plan for the whole world by pointing people toward Him."
That's given me some things to think about. This blog is long enough so maybe I will save that for another time but hopefully that is encouraging to you dear reader. Look for your plan in the gifts God has given you. Now i'm going to stare out my office window at this beautiful promise and sort through direction for my life.
