Day 21

Yes I realize it is November but here are some I started and will go ahead and finish

Day 21
This stuff isn’t really how to find the beautiful, it was just the beautiful in my day.

Today I had some time to kill in Albany before I went to a bridal shower and since I wasn’t sure where to go I ended up going to a Starbucks to work on videos and get a pumpkin spice latte (I mean, tis the season . . . gotta have 1 a year. Fall in a cup J). I grabbed my drink and headed around to a small corner with nice chairs in a table.

As I rounded a corner I was surprised to find a middle aged gentleman in one of the comfy chairs so it’s that awkward moment where, do I sit in the other comfy chair right next to him (there is a round coffee table between the chairs) or do I awkwardly choose to squeeze behind a table that is too close to the wall. Don’t know what you would’ve done but I chose the table.

As I was setting my things down I hear,
“Excuse me. Do you know much about computers?”

I turn around and the guy in the chair is looking at me with his open mac. Well, I wasn’t sure how to answer his question.

“Yeah I suppose. I can try and figure it out. What’s going on?”

He gets up and brings his computer to my table. He was having trouble connecting to the internet. I tried a few things and wa-la I get him onto google. He appreciated it and sat back down as I tried to squeeze between the table and the chair that was backed up all the way to the wall.

Shortly after, as I am opening up my own computer, the guy asks me politely to tell him when I get on because his is not working again. I turned my computer on, tried everything I knew and nothing works but google. The guy went and talked to a bartender who didn’t know what the problem was. He came over and tried everything I had already done on my computer and it didn’t work. The guy said “Guess we aren’t supposed to get on the internet right now.” and started gathering his stuff to leave. He kept talking to me about life. Asked if I went to a college around here, what I wanted to do etc.

I really enjoyed it. Why oh why is it so easy to be so self-centered? To focus so much on your own life that it becomes hard to invest in others. That is something I really struggle with but the more I invest in others the more beauty I should see in their life as well as my own.
